FAC Dancers + Billy Elliott

Fine Arts Center advanced dance students took a master class with the dancers of Billy Elliott, currently running at the Peace Center. We could tell you all about it, but the video, produced by the Greenville News, says it all! (We especially like the part where senior FAC dance student Jacqueline Calle talks about the many wonderful opportunities provided by FAC and the dance program.)

Well Written

We're always bragging about FAC: FAC programs, FAC performances, FAC students ... but, honestly, it's not without good reason. For all those doubters out there, we're going to do a little name-dropping -- and list the names of ALL of the FAC creative writing students who have won Scholastic Literary Awards recently. Get comfortable; it's a long list!

Notice a trend? Some of these students have been winning awards for years, and they're only in high school! There's no denying the awesomeness in that!

Celebrating FAC

On Friday, February 1, 2013, we toasted the Fine Arts Center in style at the gorgeous, brand-new Studio 220 at the Hyatt. Hundreds of guests turned out for a Taste of the Fine Arts, the annual gala benefit hosted by the Fine Arts Center Partners, to enjoy good company, fantastic food, an extensive silent auction, and exceptional entertainment by some of FAC's finest musicians.
It really was a night to remember, and we raised more than $20,000! One-hundred percent of those funds will be donated to the school for new technology, classroom necessities, professional development opportunities for faculty, and other budgetary needs.
Thanks to all who attended, donated an item, sponsored the event, or made a monetary contribution. We owe the success of this event to all of you! If you were unable to join us, you make make a donation of any amount by clicking the "donate" button on the right.

Special thanks to Ashley Amber Photo for the great snaps. Look for more in the social pages of the March issue of TOWN magazine.
